Sing For Your Life! 2019

Facebooktwitteryoutubeinstagrammail

You’re invited to experience Circlesinging on a grand scale on Monday, December 30th, for the 18th annual, much beloved 12-hour Circlesing, co-sponsored by First Congregational Church of Oakland.

All are welcome to join the circle and sing, relax and listen, or catch up with friends. Enjoy beverages and snacks, with space to bring and enjoy your own food and/or share with others.

This day before New Year’s Eve, we’ll sing out the old year and set our intentions for the new one. Bring a friend or meet new ones and make some special memories to share for 2020 and beyond. If you’re new to Circlesinging and want to know more about it, go here to find out.

Facilitators and Schedule

The core of this event is the Circlesong, in which the singing continues nonstop for the full 12 hours, from noon to midnight. Folks come and go throughout the day, with the facilitators changing and offering up their inspirations.  As always, our friends from SoVoSó hold the core, and will be joined by guests from near and far. In our community, circlesong leadership is emerging from the circle to the center, held by the community, a model we hope to spread into our greater collective (trainings are offered throughout the year). Come enjoy our seasoned pros and delight in the fresh inspiration of up-and-coming facilitators!

Here’s our envisioned choreography of leaders, with plenty of room for alchemy, improvisational creativity, and surprises! All times are approximate and subject to the whims of improvisation:

How You Can Help

Volunteer

It’s fun! You can sign-up on line here for one or more one-hour slots. We especially need greeters and refreshment tenders. Thanks!

Please Bring Food to Share

We’ll be continuing our (newer) tradition of sharing light fare and conversation to nourish ourselves as we keep the Circle energized all day long. The Gallery area will be open with hot drinks and light snacks provided, and space for you to bring and share something tasty–we’ll gratefully add your contribution to the cornucopia of abundance. Gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are welcome!

Donate

Our costs are low, but they are real! We don’t have big sponsors or big-ticket prices to meet our expenses, so we rely on what you can contribute – either at the door or in advance. Our suggested donation is $25, but no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. If you’d like to make our day and donate in advance, so much the better! Thanks again!
